Copycat Buffalo Wild Wings Spicy Garlic Sauce
My absolute favorite buffalo sauce ever is the Spicy Garlic Sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings. This recipe gives you that same classic taste at home! I prefer to make my own copycats as opposed to buying the prepackaged ones. There are many reasons for this. For example, I appreciate knowing all the ingredients that are going into my food. Also, I like to know that my items are fresh and don’t require a bunch of preservatives. For me, its all fun to be able to create restaurant favorites at home in my own kitchen!
My copycat Buffalo Wild Wings spicy garlic wing sauce is very easy to make. It cooks up in just a few minutes with some simple pantry spices. I definitely recommend using the original Frank’s Red Hot sauce called for in the recipe. Using this sauce will make your copycat sauce taste closest to the original Buffalo Wild Wings sauce.
Copycat Buffalo Wild Wings spicy garlic wing sauce is great anytime you want a real good, solid buffalo sauce. I was really in the mood for a buffalo chicken sandwich the other day, so I whipped up a batch of this sauce. It was so good! This sauce is also great for anytime you want buffalo flavor!
I have a delicious Buffalo Chicken Crockpot Dip recipe that I will be making and posting soon so keep an eye out for that! It is a crowd pleaser that is perfect for tailgates, the holidays or any day!
I also have copycat recipes for the Buffalo Wild Wings Hot sauce. Soon I will be posting that recipe! Keep a look out for it. - 1 Measuring Cups
- 1 Measuring Spoons
- 1 Whisk
- 1 bowl with lid approx 3-4 cup
Ingredients
- 1 cup Frank's Red Hot sauce
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp coarse ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp water
- 2 tsp cornstarch
Instructions
- In your small pot over medium heat, add all ingredients EXCEPT egg yolk, water and cornstarch.
- Heat over medium heat until boiling, whisking often.
- Once oil is reached, reduce heat and simmer for 5 mins whisking ocasionally.
- Remove pan from heat, and let cool for 10 minutes.
- While sauce is cooling, whisk egg yolk and water together in bowl until pale yellow, about 1 to 2 min.
- Whisk in cornstarch until dissolved.
- Slowly drizzle cooled hot sauce mixture from pot into the egg yolk mixture in bowl while whisking constantly. (see notes)
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
- Use Frank’s Original Red Hot Sauce for best results
- Canola oil can be used in place of vegetable oil
- Slowly adding the cooled hot sauce into the egg yolk mixture while whisking constantly is important because:
- adding the warm mixture SLOWLY prevents your egg from scrambling, resulting in a chunky sauce.
- whisking constantly creates an emulsion and prevents the oil from separating.
