  • 1 small sauce pot
  • 1 Measuring Cups
  • 1 Measuring Spoons

  3. Once oil is reached, reduce heat and simmer for 5 mins whisking ocasionally.
  4. Remove pan from heat, and let cool for 10 minutes.
  5. While sauce is cooling, whisk egg yolk and water together in bowl until pale yellow, about 1 to 2 min.
  6. Whisk in cornstarch until dissolved.
  7. Slowly drizzle cooled hot sauce mixture from pot into the egg yolk mixture in bowl while whisking constantly. (see notes)
  8. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

  • Use Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce for best results
  • Canola oil can be used in place of vegetable oil
  • Slowly adding the cooled hot sauce into the egg yolk mixture while whisking constantly is important because:
    • adding the warm mixture SLOWLY prevents your egg from scrambling, resulting in a chunky sauce.
    • whisking constantly creates an emulsion and prevents the oil from separating.
